Pool Service Software Cost: What You'll Pay at 40, 150 and 400 Pools
Per-pool vs per-tech vs per-user pricing, worked out for three company sizes with each vendor's published prices.

Pool software vendors price in three different ways, which makes side-by-side comparisons confusing. Here is each model applied to three typical companies. Prices come from each vendor’s pricing page, checked September 26, 2026.
The three pricing models
- Per serviced location (Skimmer): $1 per location per month on Getting Started (from $49, up to 49 pools), or $2 per location on Scaling Up (from $98, 50 to 1,000 pools). Unlimited technicians.
- Per technician (Pool Brain): $65 per active field technician with a five-technician minimum ($325 a month), plus a base office fee that covers unlimited office users.
- Per user (Jobber, Housecall Pro): plans sized by how many people log in. Housecall Pro Basic is $79 a month for one user; Jobber Core is $49.
Worked examples
Solo, 40 pools. Skimmer Getting Started: $49. Jobber Core: $49. Pool Brain: at least $325 plus the base fee, because of its five-technician minimum. At this size Skimmer and Jobber cost the same, and Skimmer is built for routes.
Two techs, 150 pools. Skimmer Scaling Up: 150 × $2 = $300. Pool Brain: the $325 minimum plus the base fee. Skimmer is cheaper at this size.
Five techs, 400 pools. Skimmer Scaling Up: $800. Pool Brain: 5 × $65 = $325 plus the base fee. Here the per-tech model can come out ahead, depending on the base fee.
What else to budget for
- Payment processing for autopay and card payments.
- The jump between Skimmer plans. Crossing 49 pools doubles the per-location rate and adds quotes, jobs and financing.
- Setup time. Pool Brain includes free setup; ask others what migration help they offer.
